The Development of Duncan Park, Somsai, Ukhrul District, Manipur was proposed to provide awareness/education on forests wealth of the District, ex-situ conservation of forest wealth of the District and development of Park's infrastructure. It is the only park under the management of the Forest Department in Ukhrul District. It can serve as both exhibition centre of the flora of the District as well as recreation centre for the public. The project was sanctioned vide Sanction No.19/3/2014/For. & Envt. dated 09/11/2016 of Secretariat: Forests & Environment Department, Government of Manipur. The component of the project includes:

4 Public Toilet (2 Nos.)
5 Drinking Water facility (2 nos.)
6 Storage/ Lily pond with embankment (3 nos.)
7 Visitor rest shed (10 nos.)
8 Office with cafetaria & visitor,s room (1 no.)
9 Chowkidar Quarter (1 no.)
10 Common Kitchen house (1 no.)
11 Plant shade house
12 Children park without equipment (1no.)
13 Visitor,s parking (1 no.)
14 Angle iron racks fior orchid pots (10 nos.)

18 a. Collection of indeigeneous Orchids, flowers and propogation on host trees, pots and grounds.
19 b. Propogation of trees in project area of 20 ha
20 c. Procurement of growth hormones, fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides for disease control and healthy growth of flowers
21 d. Erection and fixing of sign boards and species, name plates with taxonomic classification for visitor awareness
